Hotels Are Adjusting Their Design For New Generations

More and more hotels seem to be adjusting for a new generation of customers. The Country Inns & Suites chain is generally known for its more rustic, old time, traditional type of décor. The plaid patterns and mahogany paneling, will soon be replaced by a more modern and sleek look, both inside and out.

The new design will give the hotels a much better lit lobby and a more pleasant and open layout thorough the hotel. The interior won’t be the only place changes will be made as the old fireplaces and front porches will have to go to make room for an outdoor patio and a fire pit, all with new age seating.

The signs and even the logo will be changed as the hotel chain is going to try to appeal to both “millenials” and to “baby boomers”.

The reason behind the changes comes after a study showed that while the homey, family friendly feel is great, they are loosing touch and becoming less relevant when it comes to “Y generation” customers, or "millenials".

And seeing as are millenials going to make up close to 50 percent of business travel spending alone, catering to new generations will be very important to any hotel chain that want’s to have a solid plan for the next 10 to 15 years.
