How I Met Your Mother Ends With A Twist

In case you haven’t yet seen the series finale of How I Met Your Mother be aware that the following article contains spoilers.

The extremely popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother came to an end this Monday leaving a lot of fans confused to say the least. The 208th episode aired on the 31st of March revealing the much anticipated secret that the entire show was based upon. The 40 something minute episode tried to showcase the sitcom’s most important moments from 2005 to the present and even a couple of decades into the future.

We found out that Barney and Robin did eventually get married and after three happy years of travelling around the world they end up getting divorced. We see Marshall and Lily having a third child while Marshall’s career skyrockets. And of course we finally get to see how Ted got to meet his wife and mother of his two children.

The episode ended with two unexpected twists. The first was Tracy’s illness and death and the second was Ted’s reunion with “aunt Robin”, six years after his wife passed away.

The fast pace of the episode and the unexpected finale left some fans disappointed while other were truly outraged by the anticlimactic and wildly rushed series finale.
