Hugo Chavez In A Delicate Condition
The vice president of Venezuela reportedly said that President Hugo Chavez is already in a critical condition.
The chemotherapy of the president of Venezuela started after his fourth surgery for cancer in Cuba last December, according to Vice President Nicolas Maduro. The revelation was the first time the vice president made on the condition of the president. He indicated that the intense treatment of Hugo Chavez is being continued at a Caracas military hospital.
The president has spent over two months in Cuba for treatments. He has also experienced respiratory deficiency. The cancer diagnosis of the president was announced in 2011.
The type of cancer that the president is experiencing was not revealed by the government. In the later part of February, Chavez returned to Venezuela after staying in Cuba for over two months. He was being treated in Cuba for cancer.
He was not able to attend his inauguration in Caracas last January 10 due to his delicate condition.
The political rivals of Hugo Chavez indicated that it was unconstitutional to postpone the inauguration. However, the Supreme Court of Venezuela favored the party of Chavez and indicated that his presence was not necessary during the swearing in of his new term of office.
The supporters of the president swore a loyalty oath in Caracas in the absence of Chavez rather than holding the customary inauguration ceremony. Flags were waved by supporters while others brought pictures of the president.
Following the cancer diagnosis for a number of leaders of Latin American nations, Hugo Chavez started to speculate on the possibility that the United States may have something to do with it.
