Hundreds killed in China due to severe weather conditions

Since June of this year, almost 500 people were either killed and some were missing due to turbulent storms and typhoons that have hit China. Recent typhoons have caused heavy rainfalls causing flash floods and landslides in many regions across China. Flash floods have devastated millions of properties and lives shattered.

To be precise, 350 innocent lives were already gone and 112 were still missing due to severe weather conditions that have hit China since June 1. Last year, the country suffered the worst flooding in decades killing more than 4300 people and millions of residents were evacuated. China is suffering from worst flooding due to heavy summer rainfall almost every year.Last August, 1,500 people were feared dead due to a mudslide that has hit Gansu, a province in the northwestern part of China. In the same province of Gansu, 13 were killed after a landslide hit a bus and a truck. In Yunnan Province, located at the southwestern portion of China, many were stranded in a highway that was blocked by rocks and mud due to landslide stranding 300 vehicles and hundreds of people.

In Shaanxi, 18 were killed and many houses were destroyed after the province was devastated by a landslide. Authorities in the weather bureaus have warned the Chinese public to expect more severe and violent weather condition might trigger more flooding and landslides anytime soon.
