Ice Cube expresses support for former co-star Laurence Fishburne
Hip-hop star and actor Ice Cube expressed his support and sympathy for former co-star Laurence Fishburne amidst the controversial decision by his daughter to release a porn movie, website Global Grind reports.
Fishburne starred with Ice Cube in the film “Boyz n the Hood” released in 1991. Ice Cube said he feels for Fishburne as the plans about Fishburnes’s adult film debut continued to make headlines.
"Once your kids get to a certain age you can’t control what they do,” Ice Cube said. “You can only hope that they do the right thing, do what you taught them, and sometimes they don’t!”
Laurence Fishburne’s daughter, Montana said that she has not been with speaking terms with her father and that he is upset about her decision to make the adult movie.
The 41-year old Ice Cube, also a father with four kids, and has turned from being a rapper to a wholesome family-oriented movie star, said he feels bad about his former co-star.
“I don’t feel like he did a bad job or he didn’t do his job [as a parent],” he said. “Kids just do what they do."
Vivid Entertainment is set to release the adult movie. Montana Fishburne said that she was inspired by Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, with the latter becoming famous after her sex tape was leaked.
Earlier Montana told People magazine that doing porn was "something I always wanted to do. I have always been comfortable in my body and with my sexuality.”
E! Online reported that Montana was arrested in March 2009 for prostitution. She was sentenced to two years’ probation and community service after pleading no contest for a lesser charge of criminal trespassing.
