Jameis Winston Suspended After Alleged Shoplifting

Florida State quarterback and Heisman award winner Jameis Winston ran intro law trouble this Tuesday after allegedly forgetting to pay for crab legs in a Florida supermarket.

Leon County Sheriff’s Office who is dealing with the case issued a civil citation for the young relief pitcher for the Seminoles player. The bill the young player skipped out on was $32.72 confirmed the County Sherrif Department Major Michael Wood.

Major Wood also said that Jameis Winston was not arrested for any crime, as the issued civil citation is a new program where the victim and perpetrator must agree on a form of punishment. Winston apparently agreed to the terms of the citation and will do 20 hours of community service. If he fails to complete community service he may become subject to a criminal investigation.

According to Wood, Winston entered the store around 9p.m. and left nearly one hour later without paying. Employees contacted police who talked to Wilson at his apartment where he confessed to leaving the store without paying.

The young player was suspended by baseball coach Mike Martin indefinitely until he completes his agreed upon community service. Winston released a statement in which he admits to a “youthful mistake” and takes full responsibility for his actions, also acknowledging that his behavior need to be “above reproach” as he is now in the public eye.
