The clothes that Jennifer Lawrence used for her role as a frank young widow that won her an Oscar was sold in an auction for around $12,000. The price that it was sold at the auction exceeded expectations of industry watchers.
The full-length, wool winter coat that the actress wore in the movie "Silver Linings Playbook" fetched $4,652. This was the best-selling item in the online auction that lasted for three days, according to the Nate D. Sanders auction house of Los Angeles.
The auction house expected the items to be sold at prices ranging from $500 up to $1,500 each. This came after Jennifer Lawrence copped the Best Actress award for her performance during the Academy Awards recently.
In addition to the Oscar, the 22-year-old actress also won awards at the Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Globe last January. These awards were given for the role she played in the movie "Silver Linings Playbook".
Another item that was sold at a good price was the custom-made white pants that the actress wore during the climactic ballroom scene in the movie with Bradley Cooper, her co-star. The white pair of pants was sold for $3,493. The price of a package that consisted of a blue long-sleeve shirt and teal sports bra reached $3,493.
Another item that was a part of the wardrobe but was not worn by the Jennifer Lawrence in the movie was sold for $624.
