Joel McHale To Host White House Correspondents Dinner
Joel McHale, the star of hit TV show “Community” has been announced as the host of this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner.
The event is organized by the White House Correspondents’ Association, and will feature a number of big Hollywood names. In recent years the once media-oriented event has had a significant actor presence with more and more Hollywood names being present.
McHale will not only host the event, but will also be seated at the table with President Barack Obama and his family. He will also be performing his comedy routine in front of the First family and the other esteemed guests during the 100th anniversary edition of the Correspondents’ Dinner as the White House Correspondent’ Association was founded in 1914.
Steven Thomma the WHCA president said that he is delighted that the talented McHale will be hosting this very important anniversary edition of the Dinner. He went on to praise McHale saying that his sense of humour is perfect for the occasion, as he will be making fun of Republicans, Democrats and especially the media.
Hosts in past years include Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno or Seth Myers to name a few. But the spotlight won’t be on comedians alone, as the President is also expected to have a light-hearted comedic moment during his speech.
