Josh Cribbs suffers concussion

Cleveland Browns receivers Josh Cribbs and Mohamed Massaquoi were taken down by the Steeler’s James Harrison during Sunday’s game between Pittsburgh and Cleveland which the Steelers won 28-10.

Former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Harrison was not apologetic for the knockdowns after the game.

“I thought Cribbs was asleep,” said Harrison. “A hit like that geeks you up — it geeks everybody up — especially when you find out that the guy is not really hurt — he’s just sleeping. He’s knocked out, but he’s going to be OK.”

Cribss and Massaquoi will undergo medical tests on Monday to confirm the extent of their head injuries.

Harrison was not penalized for the strong hits in the game but a fine from the league may come this week.

Cribbs was hit helmet-to-helmet by Harrison, and then fell face-first as the ball went loose. He remained motionless for a few moments before medical personnel came to examine him.

“I know Josh. We’re cool. But when it’s us vs. them, all friendships are off until the game is over,” Harrison said.

Cribbs was able to walk off the field with some assistance and actually wanted to get back in the game, but was not allowed to do so by doctors.

Harrison smashed his arms into Massaquoi who fell to the ground and apparently experienced neck pain and some memory loss.

“If I get fined for that, it’s going to be a travesty,” Harrison said.

Harrison went on to add that, “I don’t want to injure anybody. But I’m not opposed to hurting anybody. There’s a big difference between being hurt and being injured. You get hurt, you shake it off and come back the next series or the next game.”
