Joss Whedon Discusses New Marvel Show
Joss Whedon is presently working on a superhero primetime drama on ABC that will feature a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series of Marvel will have Clark Gregg reprising the role of Agent Phil Coulson from the feature films of Marvel. He will be leading a group of agents that protect against people who have extraordinary powers.
The upcoming release of the new drama series comes as sequels of “Captain America” and “Thor” are set to be released soon. According to Whedon, they are still working on the project.
The pilot was co-written by Joss Whedon with his brother, Jed, and the wife of Jed, Maurissa Tancharoen. All three will also become executive producers of the show. The series created some excitement following its initial announcement last August. The pilot was finally unveiled during the Comic-Con last month.
Despite the appeal of Marvel on the big screen, it remains to be seen if this appeal can be duplicated on television. Whedon and his co-executive producers agree that its success is not yet guaranteed.
The dram is scheduled to be aired on Tuesdays at 8 PM ET/PT.
Using the name of Joss Whedon is advantageous for the project. Although he directed the pilot, his future involvement in the project remains uncertain. He said that he will try to do what he can with his busy schedule.
He is currently working on “In Your Eyes,” which is a paranormal romance movie, and is set to work on the sequel of “The Avengers.” He added that he got the best actors and writers for the project, which is the best way to handle the show.
Joss Whedon also ruled out any possibilities that a musical episode for "S.H.I.E.L.D” will be released.
