Justin Bieber's Concert Disrupted by Power Outage

Pop star Justin Bieber gave an unplugged performance at the Apollo Theater on Monday, but a problem caused a power interruption during the singing sensation's big concert.

The singer was almost at the end part of a private show in front of a huge audience when the power suddenly went out, his manager, Scooter Braun, said.  But Bieber still managed to finish the concert, with the help of fans singing along with him.

"What it turned into was an Apollo moment, like one of those impromptu things," said Nina Flowers, the Apollo's rep.

"It was one of the most special nights I have ever been a part of," said Braun.

The power outage only affected the stage instruments and some lighting.  Braun said they were told the problem was supposed to be only a few minutes, but it stretched to more than 40 minutes.

At first, Bieber took the interruption calmly.  He then got on the drums, which were working, for a solo, and had the crowd serenade Braun for his birthday.

But when the disruption stretched for a long 40 minutes, Bieber got frustrated.  Instead of getting mad, however, Bieber performed for his fans, who didn’t leave him even during the aberration.

Bieber then launched into his hit song from his new album "Believe" as the crowd of mainly teen girls sang along as he danced.

It wasn’t determined what caused the outage, but she appreciated the 18-year-old pop entertainer for seeing the show to the end.

She added that Bieber showed reverence throughout the night for the famous theater, a hallowed hall where the likes of Stevie Wonder James Brown and Bieber's idol, Michael Jackson, have performed.

Bieber's concert was part of a series of promotional appearances to promote his album "Believe," out Tuesday.
