“Titanic” director James Cameron and lead female actress Kate Winslet graced the premiere of the 3D version of the blockbuster movie in London on Tuesday.
You wouldn’t believe it has been 15 years since Kate Winslet played the role of Rose DeWitt Bukater, as she still looks stunning and as though she is still in character in portraying the role of the first-class socialite.
The 36-year-old actress looked elegant as she arrived at the world premiere of Titanic 3D at London's Royal Albert Hall. Noticeably absent, however, is the dashing lead actor of the movie, Leonardo DiCaprio.
The re-release of the 1997 classic drama, which is one of the highest grossing films of all time and which wowed the audiences from all over the world, will be available in British cinemas in 3D in April, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's doomed maiden voyage from southern England's Southampton in April 1912.
"The 3D enriches all of Titanic's most thrilling moments and its most emotional moments," Cameron told reporters. "It kicks the whole experience up to another level."
"One of the reasons I made Titanic was that I was fascinated by deep sea exploration," he said. "It was an opportunity to dive in a submarine very deep at that time," the celebrated director, who has just broken his own records in deep sea diving when he descended seven miles (11 1/4 kilometers) below the surface of the Pacific to the deepest place on Earth, said.
Kate Winslet cracked a joke that she would rather not see herself nude in 3D. "I'm not going to look, I'll be in the bar by that point,” she said.
The inspiring movie’s fame lingered on until present and still continues to wow even the younger generations.
