Katie Holmes Announces First Acting Role After Divorce
After Katie Holmes has finally separated from actor Tom Cruise, it seems that she is ready to spread her wings once again and get on with her career. We can remember critics say Tom Cruise has undermined Katie Holmes’ acting career. The beautiful actress’ fans will have to prove or disprove this.
The actress is now returning to her acting career on stage. She has announced her first major acting role since her divorce from Tom Cruise. She is actually starring in the comedy “Dead Accounts,” which is opening on Broadway this fall.
The now-single actress will play Lorna, a woman who is living with her aging parents in Cincinnati while trying to figure out her life. In the stage play, she also has to deal with the return of her brother, Jack, who comes back to the Midwest with a load of money and without his wife.
“Dead Accounts” comes from Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck. Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien has been tapped to direct. A representative for the play said Holmes’ four cast members will be announced shortly.
Holmes made her Broadway debut with a revival of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons” in 2008.
It will be a busy fall for the 33-year-old actress – her fashion line, Holmes & Yang, will make its runway debut at New York Fashion Week in September.
