Kevin Garnett Injures Hip In Knicks Game

Kevin Garnett, the 15-time All Star and Celtics legend injured his hip in what was a tough game at the Garden, made tougher by the questionable officiating.

Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that he was worried when he saw how Garnett was grabbing his hip in Tuesday’s game. Rivers said that it might have been a pulled stomach muscle or something even more severe; however, Garnett’s injury doesn't seem to be all that bad.

Rivers said that Garnett will be able to practice this Thursday and most likely will play in Friday’s game.

The biggest worry Rivers has when it comes to Garnett doesn't seem to be his health but how to keep him in the game as he had three early fouls.

Regarding his accusations of the officiating, Rivers said that while the NBA officials weren't necessarily happy with his words, he didn't think he said anything to out there. He clarified and said that all he meant was that the high number of fouls on Garnett changed the way the game developed.

Rivers added that regardless of officials, the Celtics will have to improve their game if they want to make up what is a pretty one sided 2-0 playoff against the New York Knicks.

He also said that him, Kevin Garnett and the entire team are happy to be playing in front of their home crowd, and that they missed Boston.
