Kobe Bryant Headed to Italy amidst NBA lockout?

Rome — Vitus Bologna, Italian club, confirmed it has made a verbal agreement with NBA superstar Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers to play in Italy while NBA has a lockout. Claudio Sabatini, President of Virtus, said that an economic deal with Kobe Bryant was already reached.

Although there are still few things to consider but Sabatini expressed his optimism and believes it’s almost there, 95% done. A reliable source had told the press that the offer of Vitus Bologna was a whopping $3 million contract just for Kobe Bryant to play for the first 40 days of the Italian league season opening. The person chose to keep his identity as the deal has not yet been signed and finalized.

Bryant had spent much of his childhood days in Italy. He was in the country for endorsements and sponsor appearances for the past 2 days before he flew back to the United State for the NBA labor talks on Friday. Bryant will be expected to return to Italy next week and currently is working to secure a working visa for the rumored deal to play in Italy. He is expected to return to Bologna by either Wednesday or Thursday next week and already with his work visa in place, Sabatini said. He also added that as of now, there was no confirmed signature from Kobe Bryant that’s why they will make the contract in writing and later on be finalized.
