Korean Rapper PSY And His Controversial Lyrics
Korean Rapper PSY, whose popular song “Gangnam Style” is at the top of all charts in the U.S. and whose popularity seems to know no boundaries seems to have had some much darker lyrics in times past.
Best known for his internet sensation song and video, who, in no time at all has become the most watched video online of all time seems to have his spot on the prestigious December 21st “Christmas in Washington” concert in trouble.
Before getting a chance to sing in front of President Barack Obama who will be in attendance, Park Jae-Sang, better known as PSY, will first have to deal with some very controversial lyrics from one of his older songs.
In a song entitled “Dear Americans” dated back in 2004 PSY had some very vulgar verses like “Kill those f---ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives” or “ Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers...Kill them slowly and painfully”.
After the controversial lyrics became public a petition was started to get PSY kicked off the “Christmas in Washington” concert.
The controversial song was made as a strong reaction to the death by decapitation of a South Korean missionary by Iraqi terrorist in 2004, as a repercussion of South Korea aiding the U.S. in the Iraq war.
PSY has since apologized for the lyrics and said that he is sorry for any pain they might have caused.
