Lady Gaga Shows She Can Take A Joke On SNL

Lady Gaga’s appearance on Saturday Night Live showed everyone that “Mother Monster” can definitely take a joke, and even make fun of herself if needed. The singer joined the small list of entertainers that had to sing and host an edition of the popular show.

The show began with the 27 year old singing her “Applause” hit then segwaying into a very flashy song and dance “New York, New York”. She also shined and gave quite the performance while singing her latest hit “Do What You Want” with R Kelly. During her second performance she sang “Gypsy” while playing the piano.

But her vocal chords aren’t the only thing that impressed. Her near perfect rendition of Marisa Tomei in “My Cousin Vinny” might have been the best sketch of the night. She also played a child actor and a parent who played his child’s routine in a burst of excitement.

Another key moment of the night was when Gaga played a seductress that managed charm three Blockbuster employees. The most memorable sketch was when Gaga played an 80 year old version of herself. During the sketch she tried to convince her building's janitor that she once was a famous star, but failed to do so even after singing him most of her hits. The janitor finally admits he remembers her “Born This Way” song as “a jingle for laser toilet cleaners”.
