Lady Gaga Will Launch Very Own Charitable Foundation
New York — Lady Gaga will be launching a foundation through the help of Harvard University and MacArthur Foundation. Lady Gaga, a multi-awarded singer, has announced Wednesday her plans to launch a charitable institution named Born This Way Foundation which is focused on youth empowerment and address issues such as anti-bullying, career development, mentoring, self-confidence and well-being.
The partners for Lady Gaga’s foundation include Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, John D. and Cathering T. MacArthur Foundation and The California Endowment. Lady Gaga, Grammy award-winning singer, will direct the foundation with Cynthia Germanotta, her mother. Gaga said in a press interview that together with her partners, they hope to institute a standard of Kindness and Bravery and a community that nurtures and protects people from abandonment and bullying in a global perspective.
Gaga is very much concerned about bullying. She even wanted to meet with Barack Obama, the current U.S. President, to discuss bullying with the most powerful man on earth. The singer has won several Grammy awards and many platinum hits including her latest, Born This Way, which has received a massive patronage from fans all over the world. Lady Gaga has more than 15 million followers in Twitter and 44 million fans in Facebook.
