LeBron James to play at Heat's First Preseason Game

LeBron James is one of the Miami Heat players anticipated in the lineup on Sunday when the reigning victors open their preseason schedule at the Atlanta Hawks.

LeBron said that it’s “a little bit” uncomfortable to sit out the first exhibition of the season for Heat, who’ll be playing on the floor against an opponent for the first time since winning the last season’s NBA Finals.

“The Atlanta Fans, they’ll be happy about it,” LeBron said. “Those Atlanta fans, they’ll be happy that Spo is making me active. It’ll be fun. Whatever I play, I don’t know how many minutes I’ll play, but the minutes I’m out there I will produce.”

Moreover as expected, among the Miami lineup on Sunday will be Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. If they’ll play, Lewis and Allen will be making their Heat game debut.

“If it’s up to Spo I’d probably play all eight preseason games,” LeBron said. “But it’ll be fun to get out there with Rashard tomorrow and get out with the guys that I left the floor with, in Game 5.”

Heat will leave for a week in China and two games against Los Angeles Clippers, after Sunday’s game. “Everyone on the training camp roster is going to be on China trip” Spoelstra said.

Spoelstra indicated LeBron James and Chris Bosh might not play long in the first exhibition game since they will have a 14-hour flight to China set to follow after the game.

“Not extended minutes,” Spoelstra said.
