Legendary Hollywood Actor Mickey Rooney Dies At 93

Legendary Hollywood actor Mickey Rooney passed away this Sunday at the age of 93. Rooney’s career had a series of ups and downs starting with a bang. The actor was one of Hollywood’s biggest grossing stars in the late ‘30s and early ‘40s. Rooney was famed on screen and off for his amazing showmanship even though his managing abilities and career needed reviving several times over the decades.

Rooney was a small statured, precocious, expansive star who had an act for staging a great comeback. His early success with his wholesome character Andy Hardy and as co-star to Judy Garland’s musical numbers was just as impressive as his latest roles in “Night at the Museum” and “The Muppets.”

Rooney passed away this Sunday at his home in North Hollywood while surrounded by his friends and family. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office declared that Rooney died of natural causes with the exact cause of death not being released yet.

The iconic actor was last seen attending Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party last month where he seemed in peak health, even posing for pictures with other veteran actors. He was even shooting “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” at the time of his death.

Rooney was nominated for an Oscar four times during his four decade career, receiving two special Academy Awards for career achievements.
