LG G4 To Enter South Korean Market On May 31
Even as the LG G4 is expected to officially enter the market on May 31, the release of the device will be limited to South Korea for the moment. A blog post by the company revealed the launch date of its next flagship smartphone. However, the post did not give any indications if the release of the smartphone will be limited to South Korea. The release of the LG G3 was initially limited to the South Korean market before it was launched in other countries.
The company is also offering a number of free gifts to increase its appeal in the market. A free screen replacement will be given to the new owners of the device, and if it gets damaged within one year after it was purchased, the company will provide a free replacement unit. A free 64GB microSD memory card will also be given to buyers. However, these free gifts are limited to South Korean buyers only.
The company is hoping the LG G4 will continue the strides made by its previous flagship device, the G3.
While Samsung and Apple are currently dominating the mobile device market, sales of the G3 were notable following its launch last year. The market share of the company in North America was at its highest level during the third quarter of last year. LG also placed fourth in global mobile phone sales as it grabbed 4.2 percent of the market. But, the company is trailing Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi when it comes to smartphone sales.
Even as the company has yet to reveal the details about the LG G4, it indicated that the new smartphone will have a 16MP camera at the back as well as an 8MP camera in front. The G4 will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 by 1440. It also comes with either a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 810 or 808 processor from Qualcomm. The smartphone will also feature a 16GB or 32GB internal storage and responsive touch screen.
The LG G4 is set to be unveiled on April 28 and April 29 during a number of events to be held in New York, Paris, Istanbul, Singapore, London and Seoul.
