"Lincoln" A Favorite Of The Critics’ Choice Awards

The 18th edition of the Critics’ Choice Awards held yearly in Los Angeles seems to have a clear favorite in the movie "Lincoln". Steven Spielberg historical epic “Lincoln”, earned a record breaking 13 nominations for the Awards.

With another fantastic portrayal by Daniel Day Lewis in the role of the ex-president, “Lincoln” is also expected to be a Daniel Day Lewis, and best supportive actors Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.

"Lincoln" is also up for awards such as best cinematography, adapted screenplay, makeup, editing and so on.Challengers to Daniel Day Lewis’ claim to the award for best actor in a lead role are Bradley Cooper with his performance in “Silver Linings Playbook” and Hugh Jackman for “Les Miserables”

The record breaking 13 nominations even surpassed 2010’s fantasitc “Black Swan” who only got 12. Coming in a close second this year is the overwhelming musical “Les Miserables” with 11 nominations and third “Silver Linings Playbook” with 10.Worthy results were achieved by movies such as “Life of Pi” with 9 nominations and “Argo”, “Skyfall” and “The Master” each with 7 nominations.

The ceremony where "Lincoln" might take a record breaking number of prizes will take place January 10th 2013, the same day the Academy Award nominations are released, and can be seen live on the CW network.
