Lindsay Lohan on Verge of another Meltdown; This Time It's Financial

Troubled Hollywood diva Lindsay Lohan's private life is going from bad to worse with the latest round of the speculation claiming that the IRS has frozen her bank accounts.

The 26-year-old diva, who is facing the very real prospect of being incarcerated for allegedly violating her parole terms (more on that later), owes $233,904 to the US government on her income from the financial year 2009-10. Apparently, the IRS finally lost its patience and took control of LiLo's money in order to clear her debts.

"Anger Management" star Charlie Sheen recently loaned $100,000 to Lohan to ease her liquidity problems but it seems that she is in the middle of just too big a mess to be solved by such a measly sum. On top of the said unpaid tax, the "Freaky Friday" actress also has to pay what she owes Uncle Sam from last year and sources close to her have told TMZ that she is deeply worried about her depleted financial situation.

Lohan's personal plight of the last five years has not only damaged her public image but affected her earning ability too. Despite still being an A-list celebrity and rarely out of the headlines, she isn't the same when it comes to raking in the cash. While her peers of similar stature regularly make tens of millions of dollars annually, she has reportedly earned just $2 million so far in 2012.

She hasn't landed a leading role in a proper feature film since 2007 and her efforts to get her career back on track keep on getting overshadowed and dominated by the long list of her never-ending legal problems.

At least she still has her freedom but that could also change in the near future if the court decides that she violated her probation terms by lying to the police over her involvement in a car accident last summer. She is on informal probation until May 2014 for stealing a necklace from a jewellery store in February 2011 and if found guilty of its violation, she might be forced to spend her Christmas 2012 and the next few months behind bars.
