Louis CK Says He Is Against Smartphones For Kids

One of the funniest comedians of his generation Louis C.K. talked about the havoc smartphones and phones in general are doing in small children.

While invited on the Conan O’Brian show, C.K. talked about the disaster that smartphones are doing to our kids and how kids these days aren't able to experience true feelings because they are always in contact with one another and don’t have private moments, even ones that involve sadness.

He continued to explain why phones are bad saying that they don’t build empathy. He said that kids are mean, but it’s not an inherent trade, they are just trying it out. The comedian said it is important for kids to actually be in the moment, and witness the reaction of the person they are directing their meanness towards.

He said that the almost insane need for contact is because humans are terrified of being alone or sad so they try to push that feeling away by permanently keeping in contact with someone. Even keeping in contact means risking their lives by texting while driving.

Louis C.K. concluded his rant by saying that he had a moment like this and instead of “texting 50 people “Hi!” he chose to embrace the sadness, a decision that he claims gave him a great reward of happiness and inner peace.
