Luke Bryan Wins Big At The ACM Awards

Luke Bryan scored an upset at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards recently. He described the win as a defining moment in his life.

The other winners at the event included Miranda Albert and Jason for the Female and Male categories respectively. This is the fourth straight win for Lambert, who won two other awards in the event.

The show opened with the latest single of Blake Shelton, “Boys ‘Round Here”. Shelton co-hosted the event with Luke Bryan. They two stars may still need to work on their on-stage, which is understandable since this the first time they worked as host of an event together.

The performances were the highlight of the show, which had more music performances compared to previous editions of the show. Aside from Shelton, the other performers at the show included George Strait, Eric Church and Carrie Underwood.

Luke Bryan along with Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, and the Pistol Annies had some cameos at the show.

The performance of Jewel left a lot of people in the venue misty-eyed since it was also presented with the Child Hunger Ends Here initiative of ConAgra Foods. The introduction of Garth Brooks and George Strait by Reba McEntire also left the audience in awe as the two performed “The Dance” and “The Cowboy Rides Away” respectively. Brooks joined Strait during his performance. The performance honored the late producer of the show, Dick Clark.

A number of high-profile performances were also presented by Tim McGraw with Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and John Mayer, who appeared during the performance of Paisley. The format was not limited to country music as Hunter Hayes went on stage with “I Want Crazy” before he introduced Stevie Wonder.

Although the presentations did not start until after the later part of the first hour, a number of artists did not mind this recent trend in a number of award shows.

Shelton also congratulated Luke Bryan for winning the Entertainer of the Year award at the event, which was broadcast from both the Orleans Hotel & Casino and the MGM Grand.
