“Man Finds Food” Program Of Adam Richman Put On Hold

The “Man Finds Food” program of Adam Richman was postponed indefinitely following a war of words over Instagram. A picture posted by the TV personality showing his weight loss was the cause of the war of words.

Richman lost over sixty pounds since the end of his “Man v. Food” program in 2012. He used the hashtag #thinspiration when he talked about his new body on Instagram. The post resulted to a heated online discussion.

Amber Sarah revealed that some of the words used by Richman during the heated exchange were directed at a friend.

Sarah explained that the term “thinspiration” is mainly used in pro-bulimia and pro-anorexia communities. It is normally accompanied with images of emaciated bodies along with mantras comparing a thigh gap and a slice of pizza. The term is also associated with tips and suggestions for purging or starving.

Reports have indicated that the response of Adam Richman was negative when he was informed about the meaning of the term. The response also had a number of incendiary words.

The “Man Finds Food” series was placed on hold by the Travel Channel as the TV personality deals with the backlash over social media due to some of the words he used.

Although the personal Instagram account of Richman was locked, he apologized for the remarks he made.

He revealed that he was struggling with his body image for some time and he worked hard to accomplish a healthy weight. He added that he made remarks in anger instead of being compassionate in his response. Richman also said that he is asking for forgiveness and understanding.

Richman revealed through the apology that he is reflecting on what happened and is deeply sorry to everyone who was hurt by his comments. No statements were released by the Travel Channel on the comments made through the Instagram account of Adam Richman or why the show was placed on hold.
