Manny Pacquiao: “I want Mayweather”
World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao announced thru his lawyer Franklin Gacal that he wants Floyd Mayweather Jr., the WBC welterweight champion to be his next rival.
Likewise, Atty. Franklin Gacal admitted that there were behind the scenes negotiations, but the full details were not yet revealed. According to Atty. Gacal parties are being cautious not to tip their hands which may result to the damage and cancellation of negotiations.
Bob Arum, Top Rank CEO announced earlier that numerous investors came to his attention, all of whom are interested in putting together the richest and most legendary battle in the history of boxing. There have been numerous attempts in putting Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., on the ring, but negotiations have fallen apart.
According to Manny Pacquiao, he plans to retire after two or three more fights. While Mayweather will turn 35 this coming February. Recalling from their previous negotiation, the match was cancelled due to unsettled revenue sharing and blood testing between the parties. After Pacquiao immersed from a controversial winning fight with Marquez, Floyd Mayweather’s camp showed immediate interest of battling with the Pinoy boxing hero.
The much awaited fight between two boxing kings will truly be a legend in the history of sports.
