Manny Pacquiao Determined to Knock Out Marquez In Final Bout
Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is determined to prove to all his boxing fans that he is worthy of his two victories over his greatest rival, Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico.
For years, Pacquiao and Marquez have been fighting for a title for who is the best between the two of them and this coming December 8, they are going to put a decisive end to their saga.
“I want to erase the doubts of the last three fights,” Pacquiao told ESPN. “There’s so many people still asking if I won the fights. I think to myself, ‘Something is wrong. I have to do this again.’”
For over 36 rounds, Pacquiao has knocked down Marquez four times — three times in the opening round of their first fight and again in the third round of the rematch. But in their trilogy bout, Pacquiao could not floor Marquez.
For their fourth and hopefully their last fight, the Filipino boxer said he will go back to his old style of aggressive combating and will aim for a quick finish.
“I want to be the old Manny Pacquiao, like when I was 25, 24 years old,” he said. “I want the people who watch this fight to be satisfied. I don’t care about a belt. I don’t care about the money. I want the win.”
But Marquez is also looking for a knockout, as the Mexican boxer is cautious of leaving the fight at the hands of the judges once again.
“I think I won all of the last three fights. I would like the referee to raise my hand,” he said. “Everybody knows I won the fights, and I don’t know what happened with the judges.I have to take it out of the judges’ hands this time,” Marquez added.
