Manny Pacquiao in Peak Form for Mosley Fight

Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosley on May 7 is shaping up to be a ferocious fight with the two camps busy prepping up their fighters.

The camp of Filipino champion and current pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) has stated that Pacquiao wants to be the first boxer to send former champion Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KOs) to the canvass.

The 39-year-old Mosley is well past his prime and was unconvincing in his two last fights, losing via decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. and drawing Sergio Mora.

But Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach has said his fighter is not going to underestimate Mosley because the latter is a proven champion with a lot of pride.

That is why Roach has steadily built Pacquiao's stamina and strength in the final few weeks before the much-anticipated bout. Roach said during training at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles that Pacquiao is in the best shape and condition that he's ever seen him.

He also pointed out that unlike the training period before the fight against Antonio Margarito where Manny Pacquiao was distracted by his duties as a public official, the fighter is focusing 100 percent for the Mosley fight.

Pacquiao also draws his inspiration and motivation from his countrymen who has bestowed upon him god-like status because of the honor he has brought to the Philippines.

The Filipino fighter knows that Shane Mosley is a very capable fighter despite his age and will not go into the ring without a measure of prudence because a mistake against Mosley can be catastrophic.

But judging from the ferocity by which he attacks his sparring partners in training camp, boxing fans are sure about what they are going to see come May 7 when Manny Pacquiao goes against Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
