Meisha Tate Wins At UFC On Fox 11
The goal of Miesha Tate was to avoid becoming psycho during her UFC on Fox 11 fight against Liz Carmouche. She made the revelation before her fight with Carmouche.
Although Tate is among the main female faces in the UFC, she has yet to win at the Octagon prior to her fight on Saturday night. She lost to Cat Zingano in her first UFC fight. She also lost her second fight to UFC champion Ronda Rousey through an arm bar. Rousey has been the nemesis of Tate since her Strikeforce days.
Tate revealed she may have spent too much energy early in her previous fights since she was emotional when she fought. However, Tate said she was aiming to be more calculated against Carmouche during a press conference after the UFC on Fox 11 main card fight.
Miesha Tate started slow as the first round was dominated by Liz Carmouche. Tate was able to ride out the storm, and won a unanimous decision against her opponent after three rounds and giving Tate her first win at the UFC.
She said she was aiming to get past a mental hurdle since losing two straight fights was tough for her. She added she started to think that she was cursed.
She said she started slow in the fight, and thought about when she would start going. She was thinking about what will happen in the third round if she will start going. She added that what happened in the first round was because she was thinking.
Tate said she is capable of performing better and it was not typical of her to start slow. Her first win will provide additional motivation for her in her future fights at the UFC. After winning the main card of the UFC on Fox 11, Miesha Tate said she has more self-confidence for her fights in the future.
