Menacing Remark Supposedly Made By Oscar Pistorius

Oscar Pistorius reportedly asked Kim Myers, a close friend of his slain girlfriend, if she can sleep at night while the court was in recess, according to Attorney Ian Levitt. The lawyer of the Myers family said the tone was very sinister and it disturbed Myers.

However, the South African athlete denied that he made the comment. Pistorius is currently on trial for the death of Reeva Steenkamp. The athlete said he thought his slain girlfriend was an intruder as he shot at the bathroom door inside his house. He said he did not intend to shoot anyone.

Levitt said the question of Oscar Pistorius was sinister and aimed at intimidating his client. He added that it was an abomination that he would approach Myers and intimidate her.

Steenkamp was close to the Myers family since she lived with them in Johannesburg. Desi and Cecil Myers were referred to as the Johannesburg parents of Steenkamp.

Cecil Myers received a text message from Steenkamp on the night she died. The text message indicated that the slain model decided to stay with Pistorius for the night.

Pistorius was seen by a witness speaking to Kim during the recess, according to Levitt. She appeared to recoil after the athlete spoke to her. Levitt added that Pistorius would clearly deny speaking to Myers in the same way he gave a not guilty plea for the murder of Steenkamp.

Among the witnesses who saw the athlete speaking to Myers was a policeman. The incident was reported by Levitt to prosecutor Gerrie Nel. However, no action can be taken unless Myers will press charges.

The neighbors of the athlete were introduced by defense attorney Barry Roux in the trial. The neighbors testified hearing a man crying on the night Steenkamp was shot. The neighbors were asked to reenact the screams they heard and produced a sound of someone who was in pain.

The presentation of Roux for the defense of Oscar Pistorius is expected to be completed in the coming week.
