Michael Jace Confessed To Killing Wife In 911 Call
Actor Michael Jace, 51, best known for his role as a police officer on the hit TV series “The Shield” was arrested this Tuesday and is accused of killing his wife after he called 911 and told the operator that he shot her, according to Los Angeles police.
Detectives that are investigating the crime confirmed Jace’s phone call after reviewing the history of the incident. They also said they are looking into the financial and marital situation of the couple to determine if anything of that nature could have caused the crime.
Jace’s bail was set at $1 million after being accused of killing his wife with multiple gunshots. Los Angeles police said that the main reason behind the murder was domestic abuse, a theory confirmed by the couple’s neighbors who heard arguing and screaming before the gunshots. One of their neighbors said that Michael and April Jace were exemplary, hands-on parents, and that she never heard them argue before Tuesday night.
Police officers responded to the report at about 20:30 on Monday night at a block in Byrnhurst Avenue in Hyde Park, Los Angeles. There they discovered the body of April Jace, 40, lying in the hallway of the house.
The actor was seen leaving his home as police arrived at the scene and was later arrested. According to police officers, the couple’s two young sons were at home at the time of the gunshots, after they returned from little league practice with their mother.
