Michael Schumacher In Stable Condition For The Time Being

Michael Schumacher, one of the most successful and famous pilots in Formula One history entered 2014 in stable condition after suffering serious brain injuries while skiing in the French Alps. The German racing legend is still in an induced coma with a yet uncertain future. His family celebrated a sad New Year’s Eve by his bedside in the French city of Grenoble, where Schumacher is being treated.

Fans are still in shock as the 44-year-old’s fate is uncertain after he suffered a serious brain injury when he fell and struck his head on a rock last Sunday while skiing with friends.

Sabine Kehn, the manager of the legendary driver said to the legions of reporters that gathered outside the Grenoble hospital, that for the moment his condition is stable.

His initial diagnostic was “serious but not life threatening” however, his condition quickly and unexpectedly deteriorated forcing him to undergo an emergency operation while in critical condition.

This Tuesday, Schmacher’s condition had improved enough that doctors could perform the second procedure. The almost two hours long operation where doctors removed bleeding in the brain was a success, however, according to his medical team, he is not yet out of danger.

The medical team led by Doctor Jean-Francois Payen said that moving the Formula One champion would be dangerous and that while his future is still uncertain, Schumacher’s excellent physical condition will help him recover faster.
