The retail stores of Microsoft will be opened early for interested buyers of the Microsoft Surface 2 tablet.

The company will open its retails outlets before midnight t make the latest model of its tablet device available to consumers. The company revealed that midnight launch parties will be hosted by ten of the seventy retail locations on October 21. Pitbull was hired by Microsoft for the Orlando, Florida retail location. One person in the line who will participate in different games will be brought in to see the show.

The Microsoft Surface 2 was introduced by the company last month. It features the latest chips from Intel and offers a longer battery life than the previous model of the device. The back portion of the device also features a two-position kickstand that will facilitate the use of the tablet while it is linked to the keyboard accessory of Microsoft.

The company revealed that numerous models of the Microsoft Surface 2 tablet were sold-out through pre-orders in the United States. However, the company did not reveal the exact number of units that were already sold.

Consumers are keeping tabs on the demand and sales of the non-Pro, entry-level model of the device. This model uses the Windows RT operating system. This model was also designed to use ARM chips. However, adoption of this model of the device was not encouraging as some hardware partners withdrew from using the platform.

The original model of the Surface tablet of Microsoft was also launched in a similar fashion last October. Over thirty pop-up retail outlets participated in the midnight sales campaign of the company.

Among the retail outlets that will host midnight launch parties for the Microsoft Surface 2 are Scottsdale Fashion Square, Bellevue Square Mall, Lennox Square Mall, Dadeland Mall, Oakbrook Center Mall, Westfield San Francisco Centre, and The Domain.
