Milestone Supplies helps create a safe and natural play area for City Pups

Leading provider of natural stone and reclaimed materials, Milestone Supplies announces the creation of a safe and fun play area for City Pups.
City Pups is a fun and reliable dog walking and day-care company based in St Johns Wood and serving the majority of central, west and north London.
City Pups approached Milestone in June this year for material guidance and supply of natural and reclaimed materials for their Hemel Hempstead compound, with the aim of creating natural play areas and obstacle courses that improve stimulation and agility for the dogs. With a clear plan in mind, City Pups also wanted to use reclaimed materials to lower their environmental impact.
“After outlining City Pups’ unique needs, it was decided that two types of materials would be supplied – reclaimed materials and mixed glacial boulders, as both were ideal for the job at hand,” says Matthew Coussens, Sales Director at Milestone.
The mixed glacial boulders are perfect for natural play due to their shape, size and texture which created a safe environment for the dogs. The second part of the order focused largely on reclamation. Milestone supplies are well known for stocking reclaimed granite setts and kerbs but on this occasion, something more suitable was required -reclaimed tractor tyres and reclaimed concrete platform edging previously used within a railway station added the finishing touches to a fun and varied adventure play area for the dogs.
“The newly designed natural play areas have already been a great success and we are proud to have worked with City Pups to create an innovative space that maintains its safety aspect for the animals’ welfare,” Matt adds.
