The MTV Video Movie Awards saw Lady Gaga being upstaged by Miley Cyrus with her outrageous performance on the stage. Despite the multiple costume changes of Lady Gaga, the 20-year-old star was able to upstage her with the giant dancing bears during her performance. She went to the stage wearing leotards while “We Can’t Stop,” her hit single, was playing.

The dance moves of the pop star were uninhibited and animated, which is unlike her previous persona as “Hannah Montana.” At the end of the song, the singer took off the leotards and showed flesh-colored undergarments before starting to perform “Blurred Lines” together with Robin Thicke.

Miley Cyrus acted as the back-up singer of Thicke, as well as his personal dancer. This left guest stars Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz unnoticed during the performance.

Comedian Kevin Hart also made a joke about the performance during the show.

People, who watched over Twitter, were unsure of their response to the performance. However, many were shocked by the performance as shown through a photo of the family of Will Smith.

James Poniewozik, the TV critic of Time magazine, tweeted that he may have to put himself of on a registry after watching the performance of Miley Cyrus. Some viewers tweeted that they were still trying to recover from the performance of the pop star.

However, Derek Blasberg was ecstatic about the performance. He tweeted that he was obsessed about the VMA performance of the star.

Bill Werde, the editorial director or Billboard, revealed that the performance of pop star was consistent with the direction of the brand that she is promoting. He added that Cyrus is not a teenage Disney star anymore. Werde tweeted that Miley Cyrus does not care about what everyone thinks and that is her brand, which she was able to deliver.
