Mindy McCready Found Dead In Apparent Suicide

Mindy McCready was found dead last Sunday in an apparent suicide at her home. The country singer topped the country music charts before her personal problems affected her music career.

Her body was found in the front porch of her home by deputies of the sheriff’s office of Cleburne County at around 4 PM. It remains uncertain who was in custody of the two sons of the singer.

Mindy McCready copped a recording contract through the karaoke vocal tapes that she brought to Nashville in 1994.

She able to reach the top with her hit single, “Guys Do It All The Time”. It dealt with male chauvinism, which gave her a lot of female fans. Her “Ten Thousand Angels” album was able to sell around two million copies.

But she had to deal with some personal problems in her life. One of these problems was the custody battle for one son with her mother. She was able to get custody of Zander, her older son, in the later part of 2011. Fears of child abuse compelled her to leave for Arkansas without permission. But she was later found and her son was taken into custody.

The singer was charged with fraudulently obtaining OxyContin, a painkiller, at a pharmacy. She was placed on a three-year-probation after pleading guilty to the charges. In May 2005, Mindy McCready was caught violating her probation before attempting to take her own life in July 2005.

The singer was hospitalized in May 2010 that was followed by a stint at the Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. Mindy McCready later said that she was already clean.

In April 2008, she admitted to having a relationship with Roger Clemens whom she reportedly met when she was still 15 at a karaoke bar in Florida.

The singer took vocal lessons while she was in Fort Myers and sang in Karaoke bars. She was able to appear in concerts together with Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and George Strait after getting the recording contract.

Mindy McCready was also engaged to Dean Cain in 1998.
