Mo Williams Signs For The Portland Trail Blazers

Point guard veteran Mo Wiliams signed a two year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers this Wednesday. The news was confirmed by Williams’ agent Mark Bartelstein the same day who added that the second year of the contract is a player option.

The veteran player managed to land a great contract monetarily speaking with the Trail Blazers paying him $5.6 million for the two years he will be spending in Portland.

The 30 year old Williams has played for Utah Jazz last season in the same position of point guard. His run in Utah was sadly not meant to be as he missed a lot of playing time while healing from an operation for a torn ligament in his right thumb.

Even with the small amount of time played, Williams managed to rack up some decent stats with a 12.9 point average with 6.2 assists and a nearly 40 percent three point hit rate.

Williams’ signing is a clear move by the Trail Blazers to improve the quality of their bench as last season it was shown lacking.

Mo Williams, who also played for the Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers will probably be a quality back up for Damian Lillard, who got the 2013 Rookie of the year award.
