More Americans Are Struggling; Government Food Assistance Sought

New York — More and more Americans are working but aren’t earning enough to support their family’s monthly expenses. Good thing the U.S. Government has always been proven to give food assistance for a lot of Americans who are earning below the average.

Currently, 46 million residents in the United States are dependent on food stamps provided by the government. That’s about 15% of the whole United States population. Americans who depend solely on Government Food Stamps in order to survive increased by 74% since the economic turmoil last 2007 where millions lost their jobs and the cost of living soared high for an ordinary American resident.

Many Americans have been struggling to put food on their family’s table just because the cost of paying utilities and housing rents are way too high. Many Americans are unemployed and others are earning low as probationary employees. 40 % all Americans who avail food stamps came from households where only one individual is working within the family. A family of 4 Americans can receive as much as $668 in food assistance per month. Aside from food, families can use the stamps to grow plants and crops.

Food stamps have become very common to some parts of the United States. For U.S. states such as Mississippi, Oregon, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Washington D.C., food stamps have become very helpful to 1/5 of their population who rely much on food stamps for their food source.
