Massoud Barzani: “War is not the solution to PKK”

According to a Kurdish regional leader Massoud Barzani, battling with rebellion waged by Kurdistan Workers Party with a 21st century old weaponry won’t get Turkey very far.

Last month, Ankara informed their plan to deploy unmanned drones on its southern skies to monitor any movement of the Kurdish rebels in the vicinity. As recently approved by the Turkish Parliament, they must take on measures that sanctioned cross-border raids to take on elements of banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party or also known as the PKK. Likewise, President of the Regional Government in Iraq encourages political solution to the conflict instead of war.

Though the move to reconcile and settle issues with the Kurdish was upended in 2009 due to banning by the court of a pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party from politics by reason of alleged ties with the PKK, still Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani persisted that war isn’t the answer or solution to the conflict nor was it the main interest of the Kurdish people. He also emphasized that Kurdish must pursue peaceful means and not through violence or inhumane process.

It’s just a matter of communication between the parties settle their conflicts. Instead of waging war and involving innocent people, Kurdish must immediately employ all positive means to avoid war with fellow Kurdish.

Correction: The name of the leader should be Massoud Barzani, not Mustafa Barzani. We apologize for this.
