NASA launches “Third Rock Radio”

On Monday, NASA launched their new online radio station known as, "Third Rock: America's Space Station" which aims to spread its space exploration and other studies to the American public. The new radio station will broadcast new rock, indie and alternative music which are crafted to speak the language of tech-savvy young adults.

This “Third Rock Radio” can be accessed via the space agency’s official website. Likewise, this new hip radio station highlights high-tech job openings in the area of engineering, science and information technology.

Further, NASA added that their objective is to showcase  its missions in a novel format for the benefit of the youth and future generations. Currently, NASA is working on an agreement with the Houston-based company RFC Media to allow the Third Rock radio under a zero-cost Space Act Agreement.

David Weaver, Associate Administrator for the Office of Communications at NASA, stated that the space agency will continue to look for latest and innovative ways to inform the public and inspire the future generation of engineers and scientists. However, this isn’t the first time for NASA to seek ways in revealing their space explorations.  NASA has also developed mobile phone applications and used social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
