Neil Patrick Harris Announced He Will Host 2015 Oscars
Neil Patrick Harris seems to be a natural when it comes to hosting award shows and with 4 Broadway Tony Awards and 2 Primetime Emmy’s the only way he could further his host credentials is to host the Oscars.
This being said it appears that the former “How I Met Your Mother” star will soon get his chance as he has announced he will be helming the 2015 edition of the Oscars. Harris said in an official press release put out this Wednesday by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that this is a “bucket list dream come true” and that he is proud to follow such entertainers as Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal or Ellen DeGeneres.
Harris, who is now 41 years of age also posted a video of himself via Twitter where he simply says “I’m in” and then proceeds to circle “host Oscars” on his bucket list.
Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, producers of the Oscars also confirmed the news saying that they have known Harris for his entire adult life and that it will be a pleasure to work with such an immensely talented entertainer.
Neil Patrick Harris will host the 87th edition of the Oscars on the 22nd of February 2015. It will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast by ABC.
