The $3,999 version of the new Apple Mac Pro will feature a 3.5GHz six-core Xeon E5 processor from Intel, dual FirePro D300 GPU with 3GB VRAM from AMD, 16GB memory along with a 256GB flash storage.

Another option that consumers can select features eight- and twelve-core Xeon E5 processor from Intel, dual FirePro D300 GPU with 6GB VRAM from AMD, and up to 64GB memory along with flash storage of up to 1TB. Consumers can start to order the device by December 19 through the physical stores and website of Apple. However, it was uncertain when the device will be delivered to consumers.

The latest model of the Apple Mac Pro is smaller compared to its predecessor with a height of 9.9 inches. The device also features six Thunderbolt 2 ports and has the capability of supporting a maximum of thirty-six high performance peripherals. The device also offers 20Ggps of bandwidth for each device.

Reports about the latest Apple Mac Pro initially emerged following the promise of Tim Cook of a refurbished device last year. A preview of the device was provided by the company during the Worldwide Developer Conference last June. The same event also released additional information of the iPad event last October.

A charity auction also saw the sale of a red Apple Mac Pro at $977,000.
