New Facebook feature a Big Hit for Users

San Francisco — Facebook has dramatically changed some of its user interface features just recently. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, called the change as a new way to express who you are. Zuckerberg unveiled the Facebook timeline to a conference featuring 2,000 developers, entrepreneurs and journalists Thursday in San Francisco.  The event was simultaneously broadcasted online and was accessed by more than 100,000 viewers.

Facebook’s timeline feature reminds its users of an online scrapbook where important text and photos are shared for years.  It is Facebook’s attempt to capture the growing number of online users who choose to stay at home rather than go outdoors for recreational activities. Users of Facebook can add photos for an event in a specific time in history including the years Facebook has not even existed yet.

Timeline enables users to add photos and caption for instance the day one was born or when one got married. Because of the timeline feature, Facebook users can now utilize the social networking site as a vehicle to express the story of one’s life, memorable moments to cherish and also some application that suit one’s lifestyle.

Facebook’s new feature includes also the “like” buttons. Zuckerberg said that the user does not have to like certain things in order for them to connect and access those things. Facebook will make it possible to connect anything the users want. If you want to read a book, you don’t have to like it in order to access it. Everything will now be accessible in Facebook.
