New iPad Air May Be Launched By Apple On September 9
An analyst from KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo, revealed that Apple may unveil the latest model of the iPad Air on September 9. The new tablet offering of Apple may offer a number of new features including an anti-reflective coating on the screen and Touch ID.
Since the company normally launches a new tablet device in October, the introduction of the new iPad Air in September may result to a packed since two new models of the iPhone are also expected to be launched on the same date. Aside from the 4.7-inch model and 5.5-inch model of the iPhone 6, Apple is also expected to launch a wearable device during its upcoming event on Tuesday.
Although some industry watchers are doubtful that Apple will introduce these devices on September 9, a good number of the predictions of Kuo have materialized.
The new slim version of the iPad is expected to feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor that was incorporated into the iPhone 5S by Apple last year. The inclusion of this feature does not surprise industry watchers since Apple is expected to use the security feature on its upcoming devices.
Kuo also said that new tablet device from Apple is expected to feature an anti-reflective coating on the screen, laminated touch panel, new gold coating and the A8 processor.
On the other hand, any upcoming model of the iPad Mini may not have a number of new features, according to the analyst. Although the new iPad Mini may feature the Touch ID sensor, it may not undergo any major enhancements in terms of its features, according to Kuo.
A spokeswoman from Apple did not release any statements in connection to the prediction of Kuo on the possible launch of the new iPad Air during its launch event set on September 9.
