New Miss Universe 2011 Crowned
New Miss Universe. Sao Paulo — 25year old woman from Angola won the highly coveted 2011 Miss Universe crown beating 88 other woman from other countries across the world. Leila Lopes, the last lady to answer the Q&A, won over after her beauty and intelligence shines the most edging other equally stunning ladies from Ukraine, Brazil, the Philippines and China in the Top 5.
The Angolan stunner was asked what physical traits she would change from herself. She then quickly responded nothing and that she is satisfied with what God has given her. Lopes was a crowd favorite aside from hometown bet Priscila Machado of Brazil who placed 2nd runner up. The last time an African lady won the Miss Universe crown was 12 years ago when Miss Botswana won in 1999.
Two lovely Asian ladies have penetrated the top five and were close in winning another crown for Asia. They were Shamcey Supsup of the Philippines and Luo Zilin of China. Miss Philippines was the only one who did not used an interpreter in answering the final Q&A. Many thought Miss Philippines had it after effortlessly answering a question about love and religion.
After the pageant famous American singer Mariah Carey tweeted her disappointment when Miss Philippines ended 3rd runner up. Many thought the competition was between Miss Angola and Miss Philippines. The only European woman to make the cut was Olesia Stefanko of Ukraine who ended up as 1st runner up. Miss China, the tallest girl in the 60th edition of the annual Miss Universe, placed 4th runner up.
