New PlayStation 4 Price Tag Hinted In A Recent Report
With the upcoming February 20 event of Sony, reports have emerged on the possible price tag of the new PlayStation 4.
Reports have hinted at the possibility that the new game console from Sony will have a 40,000 yen price tag or around $428.
Although the source of the report remains uncertain, the supposed price tag is similar to the figures that were hinted in earlier reports. Earlier reports hinted at a possible $400 price tag for the new PlayStation 4.
Despite the fact that the report came out of a major national newspaper in Japan, industry watchers are taking a wait-and-see attitude on the supposed price tag of the upcoming game console.
The report also indicated that the upcoming game console may be launched in the US and Japan sometime within the year. The report also hinted at a possible release date in the European market. The upcoming device will also come with a touch pad that is similar to the size of the existing Dual Shock 3 controller.
Although the price tag of the new PlayStation 4 remains uncertain until an official announcement is made, it gives industry watchers an idea on the possible price of the device.
The costliest model of the Sony PS3 was released in the US market in 2006. It had a price tag of $599. On the other hand, the most reasonably-priced model cost around $269.
The reported price tag of the upcoming Sony game console may not be considered to costly if the features of the device will be taken into consideration.
Since the basic Wii U has a price tag of around $300 and its Deluxe model is priced at around $350, the new PlayStation 4 may not be competitive in terms of pricing.
