Nicki Minaj May Leave “American Idol”
Nicki Minaj may be the next “American Idol” judge to leave the show, according to some unnamed sources. A report revealed that the star will not be returning to the 13th season of the show. The singer will reportedly concentrate on a new album, tours and endorsements.
The exit of the superstar follows the announcement by randy Jackson that he will not be returning in the next season of the show. Jackson has been a judge of the show ever since it started in 2002.
Kevin Reilly, the chairman for entertainment of Fox network, revealed that all of the judges of the show are welcome to come back. However, nothing is certain for the moment. He made the revelation prior to the recent presentation to advertisers of Fox network.
The exit of Randy Jackson as well as Nicki Minaj will leave the struggling show with just two judges, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey. The ratings of the show have gone down by double digits over the last season.
The two female judges of the show provided some drama with their supposed hostility against each other. However, it was not enough to increase the interest level for the show that was some time ago topped the Nielsens ratings.
Even as the exit of Nicki Minaj remains unconfirmed, the show will reportedly revert back to its original three-judge format when Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were sitting behind the judges table.
