Notorious Celebrity Cyber Hacker Arrested
Los Angeles - Christopher Chaney, a man from Florida, was arrested and criminally charged because of hacking emails of a number of people including Hollywood celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis. The documents linking Chaney with the crime have been released Wednesday to the press.
Chaney, originally from Jacksonville, hacked Yahoo, Google and Apple email accounts since last year either in the month of November or December. The scheme has been described by a Los Angeles federal grand jury Tuesday through an indictment. According to the indictment, there were 50 victims of the cyber crime including Renee Olstead, an actress. Chaney stole exclusive and private documents from the said victims including photographs and posted them to some blog sites, according to the statement by the FBI.
Chaney will be charged to 25 counts of unauthorized damage and access to protected computer and indentify theft. Some of Chaney’s hacker names were “anonygrrl,” “jaxjaguars911” and “trainreqsuckswhat.” FBI announced Wednesday the year-long investigation of the case dubbed as Operation Hackerazzi was put to an end when the suspect was arrested already in what called as an out of state arrest.
