NRA Blames “Culture Of Violence” For School Shooting

NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre says that the media encouraged “culture of violence” that is seen in video games, in music, and in Hollywood movies is to blame for incidents like the one that took place in Newtown, Connecticut.

The same NRA representative said that “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” while he proposed that every school in America should have either an armed policeman or a well-trained and armed security officer to ensure that situations like the one at Sandy Hook elementary school don’t happen again.

“With all the money in the federal budget can’t we afford to put a police officer in every single school? … I call on Congress today to act immediately to appropriate whatever is necessary to put armed police officers in every single school in this nation,”

The NRA vice president will be on “Meet the Press” this Sunday on NBC where he will try to propose his solution to prevent future shootings like the one in Newtown.

The NRA representative also noted that a new law prohibiting and restricting the acquisition of guns by “peaceful, lawful, people” will do nothing to prevent future tragedies.
